The South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) in the Limpopo province is unhappy by the way in which some African National Congress (ANC) councillors are behaving in the Thabazimbi Municipality. These ANC councillors are colluding with the Democratic Alliance (DA) to vote against a progressive motion which was presented and agreed upon by the ANC Caucus.The matter which required council debate was in relation to placement of staff members in the Thabazimbi municipality, this process has been dragging on for many years now. However, when the progressive ruling party was willing to resolve this long outstanding matter, to our surprise, the two proportional representation councillors and three ward councillors of the African National Congress chose to defy the caucus position and instead vote with the DA, which voted against the motion
